Self-Isolation Pilot report released

Published: 17 February 2022

The summary evaluation report on the Self-Isolation Pilot is now available.

The Self-Isolation Pilot was part of the Government’s 'Reconnecting New Zealanders' plan for re-opening borders and looking at new pathways to allow more people to travel to New Zealand without the requirement to enter managed isolation and quarantine facilities (MIQ).

The pilot enabled 79 New Zealanders to travel overseas and conduct business which they would otherwise not have been able to do – this included pitching for new business and finalising contracts.

“The successful completion of the pilot is due to the commitment of all partners,” says Chris Bunny, Head of MIQ.

“We would like to thank you for your mahi and support. Special thanks to those who participated in the pilot as they conducted their offshore business activities.”

The report has been published on the MBIE website:
